Cairn: Mathair’s Curse is a Scottish story-driven JRPG about a boy, his mother and loss, set in a world steeped in Celtic mythology. ⠀ Featuring: 30-hour single-player JRPG spanning 14 chapters Four main party members , each with their own personal story that weaves into the larger narrative Deep worldbuilding with vibrant environments, lore-rich NPCs, and side quests Strategic turn-based combat with items, skills, and unique classes Puzzles and exploration to unlock new areas, uncover hidden presents, and discover secrets Explore hand-crafted locations, from quaint seaside villages to ancient underground caverns and secret high-tech lairs. The world of Cairn: Mathair's Curse is inspired by life in the Scottish Highlands in the early 2000s. Fight unusual and wacky enemies, including wild roaming haggis', bewildered stop signs and an odd group of cultists. Combat is classic turn-based , with the use of items and party member skills to complement strategic gameplay. Players must watch out for enemy weaknesses and play to their strengths! Upgrading weapons and equipment is also important, along with buying items and other upgrades found throughout the world. The soundtrack of Cairn: Mathair’s Curse draws on both traditional Scottish music and classic SNES-era JRPGs. Across more than 100 tracks, players encounter bagpipe-rock battle themes, melodic motifs for each main character, and sweeping emotional pieces that underscore the story’s moving moments.
