MudGate is an action RPG for 1–8 players, set in a world torn apart by shattered gateways. Explore handcrafted surface biomes, plunge through 255 procedurally generated dungeon floors, and reclaim every realm—solo or with up to seven friends. An extra player can even drop in instantly via a browser-based guest client. Inspired by classic text-based MUDs, MudGate blends relaxed exploration with streamlined combat. Choose a class, shape your build through deep skill trees, and snowball your power with escalating loot and shop tiers as you mend a medieval world in ruins. Main story Eons ago, the realm of Icemire stood as the nexus of countless worlds, its ancient doorways thriving with portals that bound realms together—until a devastating conflict shattered these gateways, leaving them dormant and shrouded in mystery. Now, these ruined gates stand as silent witnesses to the fracture, their sigils buried beneath frost and shadow. As a traveler in this broken world, you must recover scattered compass shards, reclaim territories consumed by corruption, and mend the ancient gates before darkness claims them forever. Along the way, you will uncover hidden truths about the ancient conflict, seek lost magic to restore the gateways, and unravel the forgotten lore of the realms.
