'Agent of Strange' is set in an old and remote wintry European city sealed off from the world – a place of shadows, secrets, and power plays.
You pretend to be an ordinary citizen: but you are a covert agent of the Conspiracy who infiltrated the City and dismantles the hidden regime of the monstrous Traum Family from within.
You will explore a handcrafted early 20th-century city filled with urban mysteries and occult lore, surreal locations, and nightmarish beauty. Once a haven for scientists, mystics, and exiles, it has now been taken over by a clan of aristocrats who walked through a forbidden passage – the Red Door – and came back… changed.
Now they establish their occult reign all over the City, impose deviant laws, and erase anyone who opposes them.
They have a Plan. But what it truly is?
You create your own Conspirator — their traits, appearance, background, social class and even secret motives.
As an undercover agent, you must blend in the City’s life. Choose your cover as an ordinary civilian: clerk, student or factory worker.
The Conspiracy doesn’t give you orders – it gives you choices. You decide who to be, what path to take, and what mask to wear. Upstanding citizen or outlaw, soldier or occultist, aristocrat or lowlife, leader or loner, traitor… or something far darker. Who will you become?
At the heart of Agent of Strange is a sandbox narrative system where you are free to move through the story in your own way. You choose which actions to take, which missions to pursue, whom to trust, when and where things will happen. Your every encounter is open-ended. No two playthroughs will be the same.
Carve your unique path through the darkest days of the City and build the Conspiracy of your own!
You live and act in society — and your survival depends on it. The City reacts to your actions and choices. Its people have lives, loyalties, and agendas of their own. You are never alone — always mind what you are saying and to whom… or be caught.
Time passes. Events unfold. And every failure leaves a mark on you.
The Conspirator’s task is a hard one. You will stand against the forces much more powerful than you. Lead the Conspiracy to victory — or be erased from existence.
To endure, you’ll gather forbidden knowledge, make plans with other conspirators, and dive into mysteries so deep they will change what you know about the world. And the most terrifying dangers await not your mortal body, but your soul.
