But never forget that death looms around every corner. Consider your actions carefully, or you could lose your companions forever… Core Features: Action Combat Battles are fast-paced and happen in real-time. You'll need good aim, quick reactions, and an awareness of your environment if you want to survive. Story A carefully crafted narrative filled with branching paths and morally grey decisions. Open World Hinterlock is yours to explore! With the help of your Kinfolk, journey across land, air and sea to discover all the secrets this world has to offer. Perma-Death If your Kinfolk falls in combat, they don’t faint – they actually die. When they die, their soul materializes as a small blue flame. Collect it in time, and you can revive them. If not, they're gone forever. Visit the Memorial to pay respects to the friends you've lost. Element Based Playstyles Each element type has its own distinct playstyle. Air types are often speedy glass cannons, while Fire types ignite the battlefield with ranged attacks! Each has its own favorable and unfavorable matchups, but skill (not numbers) will determine the victor. Bonds Form bonds with your Kinfolk to unlock their full potential! Strengthen your bonds by winning battles, cooking, stargazing, or just talking around the campfire. Branching Evolutions There's always a choice! Will you take the path to the left, or the right? Each path leads to a new Kinfolk and there’s no turning back, so choose wisely.

Kindred Fates is an open world monster battling RPG, and a love letter to the monster battle genre. Our goal is to evolve the genre, and finally bring fans what they've been asking for.

Storyline IGDB

One of the things we are most passionate about is delivering a thought provoking and compelling story. Many of us who grew up with monster battle games hoped that they would mature as we did. We aim to create a game with thought-provoking storytelling, antagonists with a sympathetic cause, compelling character development, morally ambiguous decisions, and living with the consequences of your actions.
