It’s the most streamlined grid-based combat you've ever seen. It’s so simple, you can use a single button to blast through low-risk combat scenarios like an action game, but has the depth and strategy needed to overcome more challenging opponents and bosses. A mysterious eye watches over the realms as the throne sits empty. You are the prophesized, the traveller from another world, but why are you here? Is it to save Anterra? … or yourself? The design is heavily inspired by retro RPGs like Ultima, but modernized to meet the expectations of a contemporary player. Find hidden locations, dynamic scenarios and new mysteries to solve as you forge your own unique journey. Spot areas of interest from the overworld. Find loot stashes and special items with hand-drawn treasure maps. Fill out your bestiary to gain combat perks against different enemies. Hunt for the hidden faeries and learn their wisdom. Uncover and solve mysteries using your own perception and intuition. Sail the seas to remote islands. The wonder of pixel art shines through the small unexpected details like the flapping of a butterfly's wings. From large animals to small critters you will find life in every corner of the world. There are over 10 unique realms in Anterra, each with their own flora and fauna, culture, lore and magical beasts to discover. The interface design is focused on tactile items and icons rather than UIs, menus and text. Our item management systems are a great example of this. Move, equip, trade items, and drop them in the environment, all without opening a single menu. World of Anterra’s interface is integrated into the game using satisfying animations with in-world objects like bags and books. Dig through crates, chests and bags. Flip through the pages in your spellbook and journal. Drag items freely from your backpack into the world.
