Dolven is a narrative-driven tactical RPG where combat fuses party-based skills with poker-style card combos and deckbuilding. In this dark fantasy world, you command a band of mercenaries against the Dungeon Master who rules each cursed dungeon. Battles unfold on a grid-based battlefield where positioning, timing, and strategy are as important as the hand of fate you hold. A First-of-Its-Kind Combat System At the heart of Dolven lies a unique blend of classic RPG combat and poker-inspired deckbuilding. Your mercenaries wield swords, bows, and spells through traditional RPG abilities with additional buffs coming from the cards in your hand. Form poker-style combinations called a 'Rune Combo' such as pairs, straights, and flushes to earn extra mana with which to unlock more cards, empowering your party to turn the tide of battle. Every duel is more than a clash of steel—it’s a contest against the Dungeon Master himself, with you as his opponent, that's two dungeon masters facing off. Deckbuilding & Strategy Players construct a deck made up of two main card types: Mercenary Cards – Summon warriors, rogues, and mages to the battlefield. Spell Cards – Cast magical effects, buffs, debuffs, or alter the battlefield itself. Each card belongs to one of three archetypes— Strength (Red), Dexterity (Green), or Intelligence (Blue). Arrange Mercenary cards on the Pillars to form hands like pairs, flushes, or straight flushes. The in-game Compendium lists every possible combo and the rewards they bring. As you battle through Dolven’s maze of dungeons, you’ll customize your deck and collect gear to prepare for deadlier enemies ahead. Dolven is a fantasy turn-based strategy RPG with a deep card-based battle system. Following the events of The Necromancer’s scourge upon the northern townsfolk, guide a band of mercenaries through the Decaying Isles in order to rid the land of evil. Use the Pillars to create a variety of combos to earn mana and gain advantage over the recent evil plaguing the land of Dolven. Card battles include hand-to-hand combat, where the cards provide characters with additional skills. The Pillars allow you to create various hand combinations that range from matching cards and suits, playing a pivotal role in your quest to accumulate more Mana, Gear, Cards, Skills and even exerting influence over the game's environment. Strategic planning is of utmost importance.

The band of mercenaries, having grown weary of being contracted for financial gain, have taken an Oath of Righteousness to rid the world of evil and preserve life. With regret weighing heavy on their consciences after years of selling their services to the highest bidder, the band ventures to the land of Dolven. It is here where they learn of people beginning to disappear and sightings of foul creatures of the undead have begun occupying the nearby ruins. With fear wracking the minds of the townsfolk, a pious priest offers to protect the frightened people. And yet, even with his holy powers, the disappearances continue to occur. Tensions rise when the town blacksmith’s daughter is abducted by a werewolf. And thus, the band of mercenaries delve into the dungeons of the Decaying Isle to save the girl and determine the cause of the recent terrors.
