Our story takes place in a land scarred by an ancient conflict known as the Rending, a cataclysmic battle between divine gods that shattered civilization into waning tribes scattered across land and sea. As fragile peace gives way to ambition, the greed of mortals threatens what remains of this broken land. From the west, an empire watches with hungry eyes; a nation led by an aging, childless emperor, his blood-brambled crown heavy with the weight of countless schemes and quiet cruelty. In this world, power is rarely won without cost, and it is most often the weak and innocent who suffer for it. Play as Wedelia, a young ranger chosen by sacred rite to become the spiritual leader of her tribe. Torn from a once-peaceful life, her journey begins in the safety of her village before outside forces and growing unrest push her into a widening conflict that threatens to engulf her world in steel and mourning. Wedelia must somehow find the strength to liberate her people and overcome the dread whispers that seep deeper into her thoughts with each passing moon. Along the way, she is joined by a diverse cast of companions, including a stalwart ranger, a whimsical sylph, a nouveau-rich noble, and a cursed warrior. Each brings their own perspective, personality, and affinity for distinct character classes.
